Coaches

Raised in Victoria, Brett entered his first season with the Otters in Summer 2024 after coaching with Island Swimming Club for the previous 8 years. A certified NCCP level 1 coach, Brett has been fortunate to coach all ages and skill levels, ranging from the first strokes in the water to coaching national athletes with the Claremont Sports Institute (CSI) swimming program. Brett will be pursuing a post-baccalaureate Education degree in the fall with the University of Victoria after completing a Bachelor of Commerce in 2022. Brett always brings positivity and energy to the pool deck, and is constantly looking to get athletes loving the sport of swimming.

Deirdre helped coach our Otter Pups spring and summer of 2023, and has returned to coach the Otter Pups through Fall and Winter 2023/24. Deirdre is also a school teacher working in the Gulf Island School system, an artist, teaches dance, and now also uses her skills in teaching water safety and strokes for the Otters.
